A general membership meeting of Torview Club, Inc.  was held  Saturday June 27 at 4:00 PM at the club.

This meeting was scheduled for a time when the club was open in the hope of generating greater attendance than we've had at our traditional weeknight meetings.

Here are the meeting minutes:

Membership meeting was brought to order by Board of Director President David Vutera at approximately 4:00 PM on June 27, 2009.  Approximately 30 members attended.  Board members present were:  Tania Cafarelli, Gail Cavanaugh, Elisabeth Hickey, Jim Monahan, Jim Picciano and David Vutera.

David Vutera gave updates on the following matters:
  • Baby pool filter system was replaced
  • New drain covers were installed in compliance with new federal law to prevent entrapment
  • Vandalism damage to restrooms was addressed with the replacement of all fixtures using insurance proceeds
  • Wobble Cafe has taken over operation of the snack bar, saving the club money and improving the menu offerings
  • Golf lessons are now being offered to members
  • Elisabeth Hickey has been appointed by the Board of Directors to complete former director Sue Carey's unexpired term

Jim Picciano advised the members that the club was approached by the Town of Ossining Planning Board to grant an easement for the installation of a new sewer line.  The line will run from Stormytown Road, through an adjacent neighbor's property, crossing near the club's southwest corner below the tennis courts, and continuing through St. Augustine Cemetary.  At Jim's request, the town has agreed to install a manhole where the line crosses the Torview property.  This will provide an access point to attach the club to the sewer should our septic system ever require replacement.  Having access to the sewer will also enhance the property value.  A blue print was shown to interested members.  The conveyance of an easement will be subject to formal member approval when the project moves forward.

An election for two director positions was held.  By a show of hands, Gail Cavanaugh and Marc Panken were re-elected for a new three-year term.

The meeting concluded with a question and answer session.
