On Sat July 12th the Swim and Dive team competed against Whippoorwill swim and dive. We knew that this would be a difficult meet since this team is in a division above us. We put out our best effort, considering we were missing a number of swimmers, and put up a good fight in the pool.
The dive team earned one first place finish, three second place finishes and one third place finish.
The swimmers earned 22 first place, 17 second place and 18 third place finishes, all translating to a final score of 232 points for Torview and 281 points for Whippoorwill. Even though we lost the meet, seven pool records were broken again. The girls 15 and under freestyle relay, swam this week by Emma Klein, Francesca Davide, Alexa Mechanic and Lauren Bailey broke the pool record. In individual events Emma Klein broke the 12 and under freestyle record, Lauren Bailey broke the 4 day old pool records for the 14 and under 100 meter freestyle and 50 meter butterfly while Andrew Snyder broke the four day old records for the 10 and under 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter backstroke and 50 meter butterfly.
